Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Held for 1000 North Avenue Redevelopment Project

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Tuesday at the redevelopment project known as and located at 1000 North Avenue, next to the Netherwood train station and across the street from Seidler Field. The 120-unit complex in Plainfield will begin seeing people move in on Friday, Iron Ore Properties Co-Managing Member Josh Mann said.

The City of Plainfield held a groundbreaking ceremony in February 2021, with Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver and Senator Nicholas Scutari in attendance.

The project is located in a transit-oriented development area where people can “live, work, dine and play,” Director of Economic Development Zenobia Fields said. “And because of Iron Ore Properties, we have an opportunity, or the potential, to do all that right here in this building.”

Mayor Adrian Mapp noted, “We want to make this city a place — a destination — where people can come to live, work, shop and play, and enjoy all of the things that we have to offer.”
